This Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit was converted by Robert Jankel Design in 1986. The car was converted for a Saudi Sheik who gave this car as a birthday present to his homosexual son. The car was completely built to the son’s needs. This meant the needed to be sprayed in metallic pink, the interior pink leather with red piping and oh yeah, it needed to be a station car. A Rolls-Royce station car?!?!
Yes, in the catalogue of Robert Jankel Design you could find the Jankel Val D’Isere, a station car based on the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit and Bentley Mulsanne. In some cases even four-wheel drive was added but apparently this very car wasn’t fitted with that option.
The car was for sale in 2005 at a Subaru dealer near Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Before that the car spent his days in Marbella, where the Sheik’s son resided during the summer or whenever he fancied. It had only done 35.000 km in those 20 years. The car caught that much attention that two Dutch car magazines devoted an article to this car.

But the place of the steeringwheel isn’t even the most noticeable thing on this car, the colours are. The exterior is dark grey and the interior is a shade of pink/purple leather with a grey floor. Very interesting combo, I dig it I wonder if this CLK GTR also has the SS-spec engine…basman007
