Looking to the future: World’s first plug-in hybrid drive in the luxury classStuttgart. In the second generation of the Gran Turismo, Porsche is introducing the world’s first plug-in hybrid to the luxury class. Along with the Panamera S E-Hybrid with 416 hp of system power, two luxurious Executive versions are also making their debut with an extended wheelbase and an entirely new three-litre V6 engine with biturbo charging for the Panamera S and Panamera 4S. An already unrivalled broad base of models has now been extended and consists of ten models offering an even further broader range between sportiness and comfort. New and further developed technologies have enabled fuel savings of up to 56 per cent, while further enhancing operating and driving comfort. The new Panamera underscores its exceptional positioning with an even more expressive design language in the style of the new sports car generations that are marked by tighter lines, more pronounced contours and newly shaped body elements. In short: The Porsche Panamera is even more efficient, sporty, comfortable and elegant. The new generation Gran Turismo celebrates its world premiere at Auto China in Shanghai, which opens its gates on the 21st of April 2013.
Panamera S E-Hybrid sets new standards in efficiency, performance and operating convenience
The Panamera S E-Hybrid is a systematically advanced development of the parallel full hybrids with a more powerful electric motor, a higher-performance battery that supplies more energy and the ability to charge it externally from the electrical grid. The electric drive produces 95 hp (70 kW), which is more than double the power of the previous model’s electric motor at 47 hp (34 kW). It draws its energy from a newly developed lithium-ion battery, which at 9.4 kWh has over five times the 1.7 kWh energy capacity of the previous battery in nickel metal hydride technology. When connected to an industrial outlet, it can be charged within around two and a half hours via the integrated on-board charger and the standard Porsche Universal Charger (AC), and it can be charged in less than four hours when connected to a conventional household electrical outlet in Germany. The Panamera S E-Hybrid far exceeds the driving performance of the previous model. In addition, the previous model’s NEDC fuel consumption of 7.1 l/100 km was reduced by 56 per cent to 3.1 l/100 km. That equates to CO2 emissions of 71 g/km. At the same time, its all-electric driving performance was substantially improved with regard to electric acceleration, the electric range and electric top speed. An intensive pure electric driving experience is possible without any fuel consumption or local emissions, which is especially advantageous in the urban environment. The electric driving range of the Panamera S E-Hybrid was determined to be 36 kilometres in NEDC-based testing. Driving range may vary in real operation, since air conditioning and heating are deactivated in NEDC test conditions, for example. A realistic all-electric driving range in everyday operation would lie somewhere between 18 and 36 km – and under particularly favourable conditions it could even exceed this range. The Panamera with the new hybrid drive can reach speeds of up to 135 km/h in all-electric operation.
The acceleration time from a standstill to 100 km/h was shortened by half a second to 5.5 seconds. The electric boost function helps here, in which the performance of the electric motor boosts that of the combustion engine. Boosting can also be activated by kick-down – such as in overtaking situations. The car’s top speed is 270 km/h. The parallel full hybrid concept developed by Porsche also offers “coasting” at higher speeds, which refers to free coasting with the internal combustion engine shut off and energy recovery by generating electricity.
The forward-looking concept of the Panamera S E-Hybrid also embodies an entirely new range of convenience functions, which can also be activated and called up by a smart phone app. There is the charge status indicator, for example. In addition, the auxiliary climate control option of the plug-in hybrid enables car preheating or cooling via Porsche Car Connect; it can be programmed in the vehicle or even more conveniently via the smart phone app. A smart phone may also be used for battery management or for remote access to vehicle information such as the remaining driving range or for guiding users back to their parked vehicles. All functions that are not specific to the hybrid drive are also available as options for the other Panamera models via the Car Connect smart phone app from Porsche.
Long wheelbase, spacious rear seating area: Executive models with the comfort of the exclusive class
The spatial concept of the Panamera with two full-fledged bucket seats in the rear seating area proved to be so successful that Porsche is further extending it in the new generation Gran Turismo. The new Panamera Turbo Executive and Panamera 4S Executive models – with their 15 cm longer wheelbase – offer more rear seating space and even better ride comfort. They have a very extensive range of features, and above all they offer exceptional comfort at both rear seat locations as standard. All Executive models have the innovative Panamera air suspension, which combines excellent ride comfort and typical Porsche driving properties.More performance and efficiency by downsizing: new V6 biturbo engine
Boosting of performance and efficiency is a core competency at Porsche. In developing the new Panamera, this led to an entirely new engine based on the downsizing concept: a V6 engine with three litres displacement and biturbo charging. The V6 biturbo replaces the previous 4.8-litre V8 engine in the Panamera S and Panamera 4S, and it is also used in the new Executive version of the Panamera 4S. Its basic parameters themselves are indicators of progress: 20 hp more power and 20 Newton metres more torque, but up to 18 per cent better fuel economy compared to the V8 engine in the previous model. This not only gives the driver a more powerful and efficient engine; turbocharging results in a maximum torque of 520 Newton metres being available over a very broad range of engine speeds for a superior and uniform power curve, even at low revs. Most Panamera models are equipped with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung PDK. The comfortable eight-speed automatic Tiptronic S operates in the Panamera Diesel and Panamera S E-Hybrid. This transmission creates optimal conditions for further development of other efficiency functions. For example, the extended start-stop function now deactivates the engine earlier while coasting to a stop, which saves more fuel. With the exception of the Panamera GTS, models with PDK also offer a coasting function in which the clutches open in overrun, the engine idles, and the vehicle coasts freely. This function can significantly improve fuel economy, especially when travelling on the motorway.
Further developed design with a new option: LED headlights
The further advanced exterior design of the Panamera can be made out at first glance. The tighter and more prominent linework at the front end is especially apparent in the larger air intakes and the distinctive transition to the headlights. In side profile, the new, more swept-back rear window creates an even more extended silhouette. When viewed from the back, the new generation Panamera is primarily made out by its new boot lid. The widened rear window emphasises the horizontal orientation of the Gran Turismo and therefore its sporty character. The rear section itself was also redesigned, including the wider spoiler, and it shows a tighter transition to the rear lights, similar to the visual transition of the headlights at the front of the car.As in previous models, the new Panamera models also offer many differentiating exterior characteristics. Further customisation is achieved by the numerous options that are offered, including the new LED headlights, which give the Gran Turismo a very special appearance.
The Panamera models are further upgraded by new standard features such as bi-xenon headlights, multifunction steering wheel and an automatic boot lid. In addition, an extended line-up of assistance systems is available for safety and convenience. The optimised adaptive cruise control system, for example, now actively intervenes in the braking process in hazardous situations. Camera-based traffic sign detection and lane departure warning offer greater convenience in cross-country and motorway travel.
The new generation of Panamera models will be launched on the market in July 2013. Prices start at 81,849 euros for the Panamera Diesel and 83,277 Euro for the Panamera. The Panamera 4 is priced at 88,513 euros, the Panamera S at 101,841 euros and the Panamera 4S at 107,196 euros. The Panamera S E-Hybrid costs 110,409 euros, which is followed by the Panamera GTS at 121,595 euros and the Panamera 4S Executive at 132,662 euros. The top models are the Panamera Turbo for 145,990 euros and the Panamera Turbo Executive for 163,364 euros. The cited prices are valid for Germany, including VAT and market-specific features.
At the beginning of next year, a new diesel engine with 300 hp (220 kW) will replace the current diesel, offering even more driving fun with typical diesel efficiency. Also arriving on the market in 2014 are the new Porsche Panamera Turbo S and Panamera Turbo S Executive. They represent the exclusive and sporty pinnacle of the model range.

A three litre engine with an output of 300-bhp: The Porsche Panamera Diesel has become even more attractiveA new engine, more power and improved dynamic performance
Stuttgart. With its completely new 300-bhp engine and dynamic performance package, Porsche has made the Panamera Diesel even more attractive just in time for this year’s International Motor Show (IAA). The vehicle has once again been kitted out with a six-cylinder V-engine with a displacement of three litres, and the power output has been increased by 50 bhp, equivalent to a considerable 20% increase in performance compared to the predecessor model. As a result, the acceleration time has been reduced by eight-tenths of a second, meaning that the new model goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds, while the top speed has increased to 259 km/h compared to the 244 km/h achieved by the previous model. In addition to the improved power output, dynamic performance has also been optimised: For instance, the Panamera Diesel now features the controlled rear-axle differential lock with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) as standard for the first time – to date, this feature has been reserved for the petrol engine Gran Turismo models. The transmission and chassis have also been retuned. Around 8,500 Panamera Diesel vehicles have been delivered so far, and the model accounts for a share of around 15% of the complete Panamera model range. The only aspect that still remains of the previous Panamera Diesel’s V6 engine are the basic engine dimensions. The moving parts in particular, such as the crankshaft drive and pistons, have been completely re-designed and dimensioned with the aim of increasing the power output. Porsche has combined its new engine with a water-cooled turbocharger for the first time, too. The new turbine provides a greater air flow as well as a higher boost pressure of 3 bar (formerly 2.5 bar).
In addition to the increased power output of 300 bhp (221 kW) at 4000 rpm, the rated torque has also been increased by 100 Newton metre to 650 Nm at engine speeds of between 1750 rpm and 2500 rpm, providing even greater power at lower speeds. This power needs to be reliably converted into traction, which is where PTV+ comes in: The system comprises an electronically controlled, fully variable rear-axle differential lock and targeted, individual brake interventions at the rear wheels. At low to moderate speeds, the PTV Plus improves agility and steering precision; at high speeds and when accelerating out of bends, it delivers greater driving stability. As a result, the Panamera Diesel can now handle trailer loads of up to 2600 kg effortlessly, meaning that it is better able to tow attachments like horse boxes than its predecessor.
The more powerful characteristics of the turbo engine also offered an opportunity to re-tune the transmission. In order to reduce fuel consumption and improve comfort at higher speeds in particular, the gear ratio is longer for the rear axle, meaning the Panamera Diesel uses a lower engine speed to achieve the required vehicle speed. The Gran Turismo with the new engine offers an NEDC fuel consumption of 6.4 litres/100 km, which is equivalent to 169 CO2/km. In addition, gears one to four of the eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission have been designed with a shorter gear ratio, giving the Gran Turismo an impressively powerful acceleration and sprint capability. This improved agility is also evident in the running-gear set-up: The anti-roll bars on the front and rear axle are slightly more rigid, giving the Panamera Diesel a sportier feel than its predecessor.
The Panamera Diesel with the new engine replaces the current 250-bhp variant and will be available on the market from January 2014 onwards. The vehicle costs EUR 85,300 including VAT in Germany.

Atlanta. Porsche is placing its fastest, most powerful and most luxurious Panamera grand touring sedan at the peak of the series: With a power output of 570 hp and a top track speed of 192 mph, plus a particularly extensive and top-quality range of features, the Panamera Turbo S is guaranteed a special status in its market segment. For the first time ever, an Executive version of the Panamera Turbo S is also available with a wheelbase that has been extended by 5.9 inches. As a result, the Panamera Turbo S Executive offers significantly more space and even more comfort, particularly at the rear. Thermal and noise-insulated windows, which include privacy glazing, an interior lighting package designed especially for the rear, and a large center console at the rear are just some of the extensive standard features. The new top model in the Panamera model line will be celebrating its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show November 20-21, 2013. The character of the new Panamera Turbo S is evident not only in its driving performance but also in the key distinguishing features of its appearance. The Palladium Metallic exterior color, which is available solely for the new Panamera Turbo S, gives the top model an especially exclusive look and enhances the classy, elegant contours. An indication of the vehicle’s outstanding driving dynamics is provided by 20-inch 911 Turbo II wheels, which are not only larger but also significantly wider than the standard wheels belonging to other Panamera models. The four-way rear spoiler, painted in the same color as the exterior, is another unique feature.
The new top Panamera model from Porsche features an exceptionally extensive range of equipment appropriate for a top model in the luxury class. It features all of the driving dynamics control systems available for the model range as standard. The Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), an active roll stabilization system, reduces the vehicle’s lateral inclination in curves, thereby increasing agility and comfort in equal measure. The Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) system works with a variable standard torque split at the rear wheels in combination with an electronically controlled rear-axle differential lock to provide improved traction in any driving situation. Thanks to the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), the Panamera Turbo S benefits from a high-performance brake system that is particularly resistant to brake fading and wear. The chassis of the Panamera Turbo S of course features the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) adaptive damper control and adaptive air suspension with additional air volume, new to the Panamera range for 2014.
Fifty more horsepower from new turbochargers
A 50-hp increase in power compared to the Panamera Turbo engine has been achieved through specific revisions to a number of components. Porsche is now using two new turbochargers with larger compressors in the Panamera Turbo S model. The new compressors increase the air flow, and the chargers push more oxygen into the combustion chambers at high loads and speeds. In addition, the injection pressure has been increased by 20 bar to 140 bar. Together, both of these measures also enable higher component loads, which are absorbed by pistons made from a new aluminium alloy and specially coated piston rings. This concept has two further advantages: By preparing the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chambers more effectively, the torque also increases to 553 lb.-ft. at between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm, with overboost increasing torque momentarily to 590 lb.-ft. The extra torque makes overtaking even easier and faster.
Thanks to the optional sport exhaust system, the Panamera Turbo S offers drivers the opportunity to maximize the emotional character of the car whenever they wish. This unique sound experience is achieved by means of an acoustic channel that can be switched at the push of a button; this channel directs the engine sound straight into the interior. In addition, individual cylinders are skipped when switching up a gear, allowing the engine speed to fall faster and the clutch to engage quickly.
Sport Chrono package enhances sporty handling characteristics
The new Panamera Turbo S is also perfectly equipped to effectively convert its increased level of power and torque into sporty driving dynamics. One of the requirements for this effective conversion of power is the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system, which optimizes torque flow to the wheels, even in difficult driving conditions. The Sport Chrono package comes as standard, and coordinates the drive power and chassis at the touch of a button to guarantee a consistently sporty response. The overboost function is activated in «Sport» and «Sport Plus» mode as well as during kickdown in «Normal» mode; the overboost function temporarily increases the boost pressure to enable even more powerful acceleration capability. The «Launch Control» start function guarantees the best possible acceleration when moving off by optimally co-ordinating the responses of the engine control system and the Porsche Doppelkupplung gearshift program. Thanks to the reworked gear shifting strategy, the Porsche Doppelkupplung changes between its seven gears even more rapidly, accelerating the new Panamera top model from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.Chassis with all Panamera assistance systems
The chassis features all of the active systems that Porsche has developed and introduced for the sporty Panamera grand touring range as standard. The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system is the centerpiece, combining adaptive air suspension and adaptive damper control. The PASM system continuously adjusts the damper forces and adapts them to suit road conditions and driving style. Using the PASM chassis button on the center console, the driver can choose between three performance maps – Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. Similarly, the adaptive air suspension offers the ability to activate different spring rates to open up an even greater range of chassis characteristics, giving drivers the choice between a high level of driving comfort and very sporty driving dynamics. The combination of the PDCC and PTV Plus means that the Panamera Turbo S features the most advanced version of the Panamera chassis as standard. The PDCC prevents the vehicle body from rolling on its longitudinal axis by applying a counter torque using active stabilisers on the front and rear axles. This system also improves vehicle balance via dynamic roll moment distribution, resulting in excellent agility in every speed range driven as well as optimum steering performance and balanced load alteration behavior. Increased agility is achieved because the tires constantly maintain the ideal position on the road, allowing optimized lateral forces to build up and act upon each tire. Variable roll moment distribution also directly influences the vehicle’s self-steering properties.
The PDCC, PASM and air suspension are always controlled together when one of the three chassis programs is selected. When the «Comfort» setting is selected, the systems provide a relaxed journey on uneven roads. In «Sport» and «Sport plus» mode, active intervention by the systems influence steering behavior, maximum roll support, and traction in order to secure maximum performance and agility.
PTV Plus for even better cornering: Motorsport derived ceramic brakes
The advantages offered by the PDCC in terms of driving dynamics are enhanced still further by the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system and the electronically controlled rear-axle differential lock with variable locking effect. The system optimizes steering behavior and traction for a sporty driving experience. The Panamera Turbo S comes with the PCCB as standard. These super powerful, ceramic brakes with yellow brake calipers offer clear advantages over conventional grey cast-iron brake discs. A reduction in mass of approximately 50 percent, a faster handling response and the corrosion resistance of the brake discs help ensure maximum performance.
Interior: Two-tone-leather interior and comfort seats
The synthesis of exclusivity and sportiness is upheld in the interior by the two-tone leather furnishings which come as standard. One particular highlight is the new interior package in Dark Burl Walnut. The new decor includes a hint of red, providing a slightly cooler effect, and the interior of the Panamera Turbo S is completed by the embossed Porsche crests on the front headrests.14-way power seats at the front are standard and include the memory package for excellent travel comfort. The memory package includes seat surface extension as well as lumbar support and electrical steering column adjustment. Both the front and rear seats feature seat heating as standard; seat ventilation is also available as standard in the Panamera Turbo S Executive. The adaptive sport seats build on this seating system to include the comfort memory package with raised seat side bolsters and electronic, 18-way adjustment is an option for the Panamera Turbo S. At the rear, two single seats with a folding central arm rest offer generous leg and head room, even for tall passengers. Passengers at the rear of the Panamera Turbo S Executive travel in even greater luxury: the single seats have an extra 4.7 inches of space in the footwell; all seats offer active ventilation and the electronic roll-up sunblind enables greater privacy. Both rear passengers are protected by side air bags.
In the U.S., the Panamera Turbo S will have a base M.S.R.P. of $180,300 and the Panamera Turbo S Executive will have a base M.S.R.P. of $200,500. Prices do not include delivery charges.

Luxuriously equipped limited edition of the PanameraStuttgart. Exquisite luxury and particularly comprehensive standard features are on offer from the Porsche Panamera Exclusive Series. Finished in the Exclusive factory, the series is limited to 100 units worldwide. It is based on the Panamera Turbo S Executive, the 570 hp (419 kW) top version of the grand tourer with a long wheelbase and very generously proportioned rear passenger space. The world premiere takes place at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Being provided by Porsche for the first time on the Panamera Exclusive Series is two-colour, graduated paintwork: below the door handles a contrast is created with the timeless deep black metallic paint by a chestnut brown metallic colour that runs in the background along the lines of the car to the rear. Every one of the 100 vehicles is being painted by hand in order to ensure a harmonious blend of colour. The front air inlet grilles and the 20-inch wheels in the Sport Classic design are, for instance, also deep black metallic.
The interior is also very elegantly finished. All of the seats and the lower door panels are covered in Poltrona Frau leather in the prestigious Italian brand’s Agatha Chestnut Brown colour. The skins being used for the Panamera Exclusive Series are all hand-picked and exceptionally soft. In order to enable seat ventilation, the seats’ centre panels are perforated – exclusively for this limited edition in the form of the Porsche crest. The upper door trim is in black milled nappa leather. Chestnut brown stitching in selected places create contrasting touches. Inspired by the two-colour exterior paintwork, the decorative interior trim elements also feature a blend of colours: a transition to the rear from classic walnut burl wood into a deep black piano lacquer surface.
A world premiere is being given in the Panamera Exclusive Series to Porsche’s newly developed Rear Seat Entertainment System Plus. The main components of the multimedia system, fitted as standard in this limited edition, are two high-resolution 10.1-inch touchscreens in the back with built-in camera and integrated DVD player. The system facilitates comprehensive business and entertainment functions, including in combination with mobile Internet access. The sound is played out either via cordless headphones or the Burmester high-end surround sound system.
In the interior of every vehicle of the Panamera Exclusive Series is a tag showing its individual limited edition number. On the outside hand-made badges behind the front air intakes show like a signature that the vehicle originates from the Porsche Exclusive factory.
As an optional extra, Porsche is offering a matching, five-piece luggage set, which is likewise made of high-quality Poltrona Frau leather and features both perforations in the shape of the Porsche crest and Exclusive Series embossing.
The Porsche Panamera Exclusive Series is now available to be ordered and costs 249,877 Euro, including value added tax and country-specific features. The limited series is available only as a left-hand drive car.
