Mercedes-Benz Cars at the Geneva International Motor Show 2016: The dream-car initiative

Stuttgart. Mercedes-Benz Cars is presenting its Dream Car Collection at the 86th Geneva Motor Show and starting the 2016 open-air season by unveiling new roadster and cabriolet models. One highlight is the world premiere of the new C-Class Cabriolet. With its classic soft top it is an attractive entry-level model in the range of Mercedes dream cars, with all-season open-air driving enjoyment included as standard. Further harbingers of spring include the new SL and the SLC, both celebrating their European premieres, as well as the Mercedes-AMG S 63 Cabriolet Edition 130 to commemorate the invention of the automobile 130 years ago. And the smart fortwo cabrio has now become even more exclusive: in the shape of the new limited-edition smart fortwo cabrio BRABUS edition, which is likewise celebrating its world premiere in Geneva. The new Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupé is the latest sporty model to join the C-Class family. Also being exhibited for the first time in Europe is the new E-Class. The tenth generation sets standards in terms of design, safety, efficiency and automotive intelligence. The V-Class range is introducing the EXCLUSIVE line, which enables the MPV to impress with a particularly high level of equipment.

Mercedes-Benz will be presenting all the information and images relating to the Geneva Motor Show (public days: 3 to 13 March) to the media representatives via the continuously updated website http://www.mercedes-benz.com/geneva from 29 February. The «Mercedes-Benz Media Night» on Monday, 29 February from 7.30 p.m. and the press conference on Tuesday, 1 March from 8.15 a.m. will be broadcast on the internet via live stream (http://www.daimler.gomexlive.com).

Show stand in «Silver Flow» ambience

Visitors will experience the «Mercedes-Benz Dream Car Collection» in a fascinating «Silver Flow» ambience: a dynamically shaped, free-floating, large-scale sculpture consisting of silver slats creates the perfect setting for the new Mercedes models. The technically sculptural Silver Flow appears to float weightlessly above the large show stand covering 3120 square metres and combines with the central media space to form the stage area for the presentation of the numerous premieres. Mercedes-Benz is exhibiting a total of 37 vehicles on the public days.

Innovation topics are presented opposite the main stage with interactive stations at the centre of the show stand. The «E-Mobility» area presents an impressive range of electric vehicles including the plug-in hybrid models of the E-Class, the GLE and the GLC as well as the purely electric B-Class, while the highlight of the Mercedes-Benz hybrid initiative is a reigning world champion: the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 W06 Hybrid racing car.

The dynamic shape of the Silver Flow guides visitors behind the main stage to Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes me – the new service brand from Mercedes-Benz. In a separate area, visitors to the show can find out about the wide-ranging and customisable Mercedes me options – from networking one’s own Mercedes-Benz with a smartphone to innovative mobility solutions to inspiring lifestyle, financing and service offers.

The Mercedes-Benz Silver Flow show concept celebrated its premiere at the 2014 Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris and was also a defining element in the Festival Hall at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 2015. Through the flexibility of the slat structure the brand image can be adapted to the individual trade fairs with a high recognition effect.

Celebration time: tenth anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz Museum

From the café on Level 1, customers can enjoy a fascinating view across the entire show stand thanks to the open design. Friends and fans of the brand are also invited to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz Museum in the café. Opened in 2006, the Museum recounts the history of the automobile from the very beginning as well as looking ahead to its future. It has welcomed more than 7.1 million visitors through its doors over the last ten years.

The 86th Geneva Motor Show is almost upon us.

Koenigsegg will be there with three outstanding cars on display at the Koenigsegg stand, including two world premieres.

A brand new build Koenigsegg Agera RS

The Koenigsegg Agera RS was one of two world premieres at last year’s Geneva Motor Show. In January 2016 it became the fastest selling car in Koenigsegg history with an order taken for the 25th and final car, just 10 months after its debut.

We are proud to share another stunning Agera RS with the Geneva public this year.

The world premiere of the Koenigsegg Regera in production specification

The Koenigsegg Regera was the star of the Geneva show in 2015, when it was first shown in concept form. Some 12 months of development and 3000 changes later, the Regera is back and will be shown in production form for the first time.

The world premiere of the final Koenigsegg Agera model range

The Agera has been an outstanding success for Koenigsegg. It’s fitting that the name is sent out in style. Geneva 2016 will see the premiere of the final Agera series ever.

                      ——

Full details relating to these incredible high performance vehicles will be available at this website after Koenigsegg’s press conference, at 1300 CET on 1st March.

Press days are March 1st and 2nd. The show is open to the general public from March 3-13. Full details are available at the Geneva Motor Show website.

The Koenigsegg stand at Geneva is at Site 1259, in Halle 1. It is shaded green in the image below.

› CNG campaign continues: ŠKODA Octavia G-TEC now available with DSG transmission

Mladá Boleslav, 17 February 2016 – ŠKODA continues to grow: Over recent years, the brand has fundamentally expanded and renewed their model range. The SUV range is now also being strengthened. With the ŠKODA VisionS, the Czech car manufacturer gives an insight into how ŠKODA’s future SUV design language might look. The brand also presents their most important future technologies with the show car. The new ŠKODA Octavia RS 4×4, the ŠKODA Octavia G-TEC with DSG transmission and the ScoutLine version of the Fabia Combi round off ŠKODA’s appearance at Lac Léman.

The ŠKODA VisionS incorporates the brand’s new design language, carrying it over into the SUV segment: the design is clearly influenced by Czech Cubism and the tradition of Bohemian crystal art. The lines are precise, sharp and clean-cut; the distinctive interplay of light and shadow on the contoured surfaces creates exciting effects, which are accentuated by the Island-Green color.

With a 2.79-meter wheelbase, at 4.70 meters long, 1.91 meters wide and 1.68 meters tall, the ŠKODA VisionS makes a bold statement on the road. Based on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB), this is ŠKODA’s first vehicle to feature six seats across three rows.

Another highlight of the concept vehicle is its plug-in hybrid drive: with 165 kW (225 hp), the show car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds with a top speed of almost 200 km/h. 1.9 litres of petrol is all the car needs to travel 100 km (45 grams CO2 per kilometre). The ŠKODA VisionS can go up to 50 km on electric alone, and will travel up to 1000 km with both systems combined.

The internal combustion engine is a 1.4 TSI with 115 kW (156 hp) and 250 Nm of torque. This works alongside an e-motor that provides 40 kW of continuous power and 220 Nm peak torque. It is integrated into the six-speed DSG, which directs the power to the front wheels. A second electric motor with up to 85 kW and 270 Nm of torque drives the rear axle. This works independently of the front axle drive, meaning the show car has a smart four-wheel drive, which requires no mechanical coupling. The three engines cooperate in a highly flexible manner: The driver of the ŠKODA VisionS can choose between several modes of operation – from purely electric drive to charge modes, always with the goal of maximum efficiency. The lithium-ion battery with a 12.4kWh capacity is positioned in front of the rear axle.

ŠKODA has responded to the rapidly growing scope of information and the passengers’ desire to communicate by introducing automotive digital networking (mobile services), providing large displays for optimum vehicle and infotainment services for all passengers, who can connect to the network several ways from each seat in the vehicle.

The ŠKODA Octavia RS 4×4 will also be celebrating its debut at this year’s motor show: ŠKODA’s top-of-the-range Octavia is available as a saloon or estate with the 2.0 TDI engine with 135 kW (184 PS) and DSG transmission. With a drive unit, which is both sporty and safe, the Octavia RS 4×4 makes a strong partner for families, work and leisure. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 228 km/h. In NEDC, the model will manage 4.9 litre diesel per 100 km; CO2 equivalent of 129 grams per km (all values for sedan).

The ŠKODA Octavia G-TEC is particularly economical: It currently costs less than four euros in fuel to drive this model 100 km. On request, ŠKODA can fit the natural-gas car with DSG transmission. The 1.4 TSI provides 81 kW (110 hp) per km, emits less than 100 grams of CO2. The ŠKODA Octavia G-TEC is available in saloon and estate versions.

ŠKODA’s ScoutLine range also continues to grow. Alongside the Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine, there is now the ŠKODA Fabia Combi ScoutLine – with its unique off-road look and attractive, practical equipment features. Three petrol engines with 55 kW (75 hp), 66 kW (90 hp) and 81 kW (110 hp) and three diesel engines with 55 kW (75 hp), 66 kW (90 hp) and 77 kW (105 hp) are available.
