Mercedes-Benz at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show: Numerous world and European premieres
Stuttgart/Geneva. The 90th Motor Show in Geneva brings several new products: the revised E-Class, three AMG world premieres, new models from the family of compact hybrids, and the Marco Polo with Mercedes-Benz Advanced Control (MBAC). The VISION AVTR concept vehicle will also be on show in Europe for the first time on the eve of the event.
«Meet Mercedes» takes place on the day before the Geneva Motor Show, 2 March 2020, in the «HEAD – Genève“. This is where invited journalists have the opportunity to see initial product innovations related to the new E-Class and talk with Daimler experts in an informal atmosphere.
The press conference will start at 8.30 a.m. in Hall 6 on the first media day, 3 March 2020. Anyone interested worldwide can follow the press conference live on the online platform Mercedes me Media. Thrilling intelligence of the E-Class and AMG world premieres
The refresh of the E-Class means not only the implementation of several hybrid variants, one of which will be on display in Geneva. It also means a more dynamic design such as the sporty Avantgarde exterior, as well as the latest generation of Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Stop-and-Go Assist, Active Steering Assist and many more. The redesign is also evident in the interior – for example, in the completely redesigned steering wheel, available in various versions, and in the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) multimedia system: as standard, it includes two large 10.25-inch/26 cm screens arranged side by side for a sublime widescreen look. The increasing electrification of the drivetrain likewise represents an important step towards the future. The AMG variant of the E-Class will also come to Geneva, as will two new SUVs from Affalterbach.
Marco Polo – compact camper van, intelligently networked
The compact camper van from Mercedes-Benz is on show in Geneva with two intelligent «innovations». The intuitive MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, familiar from various passenger car models bearing the three-pointed star, will debut in the Marco Polo for spring 2020. The newly developed MBAC (Mercedes-Benz Advanced Control) interface module will be integrated simultaneously with the introduction of MBUX. MBAC allows central operation of a host of functions in the living area such as the lights or heating via the touch display in the cockpit or via smartphone app. As a result, the Marco Polo becomes a smart home on wheels.
VISION AVTR – A Hollywood-ready concept vehicle
The VISION AVTR celebrated its world premiere at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and will be on show for the first time in Europe at «Meet Mercedes». The concept vehicle, whose abbreviation stands for ADVANCED VEHICLE TRANSFORMATION, is inspired by James Cameron’s film Avatar and the result of an unusual global cooperation between one of the most innovative brands of the entertainment industry and the world’s eighth most valuable brand, Mercedes-Benz. As embodiment of visions of future mobility, the VISION AVTR is ahead of its time not only with regard to its futuristic inside-out design: it offers an entirely new interaction between man, machine and nature. The revolutionary battery technology uses a graphene-based organic cell chemistry and is completely free of rare earths and metals.

The Revero, which will be exhibited at GIMS 2020 in March, is Karma’s original luxury electric vehicle, powered by dual electric motors. The Revero features an efficient four-cylinder turbocharged engine which powers an on-board electric generator and enhances overall vehicle performance. Karma’s European retailers will offer a strictly limited number of Revero units in line with the company’s international expansion plans, ahead of future product arriving on the continent.
In addition to displaying its Revero at GIMS 2020, Karma will also showcase its 2020 Revero GT, currently available in North America. The Revero GT, recently named the 2020 Luxury Green Car of the Year™ by Green Car Journal, maintains the soul-stirring design and sustainability of the original Revero, while also offering an elegant new redesign comprised of sustainably-sourced high-quality materials, reimagined infotainment and technology, and an enhanced electric architecture.
Both vehicles offer drivers the best of both worlds; dual electric motors powering the vehicle’s on-board electric generator with exceptional performance and handling. Honda llevará a cabo el debut del nuevo Jazz y su variante Jazz Crosstar en el Salón del Automóvil de Ginebra 2020, junto con una gama de productos electrificados e innovaciones de gestión energética. Unificada bajo la nueva marca e: TECHNOLOGY, la gama expuesta refleja la ambición de Honda de proporcionar una completa variedad de productos de movilidad eléctrica y energía para dar respuesta a los estilos de vida modernos.
Junto al nuevo Jazz, los visitantes del Salón de Ginebra también podrán contemplar el vehículo eléctrico de batería de Honda, el nuevo Honda e. Estos dos modelos son los primeros de los seis que Honda lanzará al mercado en los próximos tres años, cuando la marca contará con los principales modelos de la gama electrificados, en 2022.
Nuevo Honda Jazz
El nuevo automóvil de cinco puertas de Honda, que hace su debut europeo en Ginebra, incorpora por primera vez de manera exclusiva la avanzada tecnología híbrida de dos motores (generador e impulsor) e:HEV. Los ingenieros de Honda han reinventado por completo este icónico modelo desde cero. En el proceso, concibieron una convincente nueva propuesta en el segmento compacto: un automóvil urbano que combina una eficiencia excepcional con la máxima practicidad.
La nueva evolución de diseño contemporáneo introduce una bella simplicidad a las formas atemporales del Jazz. Sus contornos suaves conforman una silueta reconocible al instante, lo que añade un nuevo atractivo emocional a los niveles de confort y practicidad interior por los que el Honda Jazz es bien conocido.
El nuevo Jazz incorpora la intuitiva tecnología de infoentretenimiento con conectividad integrada en el automóvil para garantizar que los ocupantes pueden mantenerse conectados. El Jazz cuenta también con el Honda Personal Assistant, un sistema de inteligencia artificial incorporado por primera vez en el Honda e.
Nueva variante Crosstar
Para ampliar el atractivo del modelo, la variante Jazz Crosstar presenta una propuesta más de estilo SUV, orientada a aquellos usuarios con estilos de vida más activos. Disponible con la misma motorización híbrida y las características interiores que el modelo estándar, el nuevo Jazz Crosstar proporciona una posición de conducción más alta, tapicería resistente al agua y raíles integrados en el techo.
La presencia visual del modelo también se ve reforzada por un diseño de la parrilla frontal más robusta, con destacadas molduras negras y elegantes molduras laterales. La versión Crosstar incorpora llantas de aleación específicas que crean una mayor sensación de estabilidad y mejoran el estilo robusto de la variante.
En Ginebra el Honda Jazz y el Honda e se expondrán junto a dos unidades de CR-V Hybrid, completando la gama de modelos electrificados unificados bajo la denominación e:TECHNOLOGY de Honda para 2020.
Tecnología híbrida e:HEV
El stand de Honda en el Salón del Automóvil de Ginebra también mostrará la gama de motores híbridos e: HEV de la marca que incorporan tanto en el CR-V Hybrid como en el nuevo Jazz. El sistema e: HEV recientemente desarrollado para el Jazz consta de dos compactos motores eléctricos (generador e impulsor) de energía densa, conectados a un motor de gasolina DOHC i-VTEC de 1.5 litros, una batería de iones de litio y una innovadora transmisión de engranajes fijos a través de una unidad inteligente de control de potencia. Estas avanzadas tecnologías funcionan conjuntamente para proporcionar una respuesta altamente eficiente, suave y directa.
Tecnologías conectadas de Honda
Además de su nueva gama de modelos, Honda mostrará sus tecnologías de inteligencia artificial intuitiva y de conectividad avanzadas. Los visitantes podrán experimentar cómo el Honda e y el nuevo Jazz se integran a la perfección en los estilos de vida modernos, a través de una funcionalidad sofisticada y fácil de usar, como es el sistema de reconocimiento de comandos de voz Honda Personal Assistant, que incorporan ambos modelos. Gestión energética
Honda también exhibirá su gama de sistemas de carga para vehículos eléctricos y otras soluciones de gestión de energía. El Honda Power Charger se mostrará junto con un ejemplo de infraestructura de carga urbana de la compañía especialista en sistemas de carga, ubriticity. Y el Honda Power Manager avanzará la futura tecnología de transmisión de energía «vehicle-to-grid” (del vehículo a la red).
Civic Type R GT, Sport Line y Limited Edition
El stand se completará con la nueva gama Civic Type R, con la primera presentación al público de las nuevas versiones Sport Line y Limited Edition. Esta zona también mostrará las capacidades de rendimiento más extremas de Honda, representadas por el monoplaza de Fórmula 1 Red Bull Racing RB16, la motocicleta ganadora del Mundial de Moto GP, del Repsol Honda Team, la RC213V, y la CRF450 Rally del Monster Energy Honda Team, tras haber conseguido recientemente el título del Rally Dakar.

THE 2020 GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW WILL TAKE PLACE AS SCHEDULED
After the first case of coronavirus was reported in Switzerland yesterday, Tuesday, 25 February, the board of the Geneva International Motor Show Foundation (GIMS) and Palexpo met today to re-evaluate the current situation given the latest information from the cantonal health authorities.
Based on the current situation, we have been advised that GIMS can open as planned. Journalists will have access to the halls from 2 p.m. on Monday 2 March and the Car of the Year Award ceremony will take place in the Congress Centre from 3 p.m. on the same day. The official Media Day will be held on 3 March and VIP Day will be held on 4 March, and the public is expected at Palexpo from 5 to 15 March.
GIMS and Palexpo are following the guidelines of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), are in regular contact with the General Directorate of Health of the Republic and Canton of Geneva and its medical advisor, and have developed an action plan that can be adapted as necessary in real time. Information on the measures GIMS and Palexpo are taking is available on this website. The organizers will continue to monitor and reassess the situation regularly.

The International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva postponed to September.
The 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, which was supposed to be held in
Palexpo from March 25th to March 29th
, is postponed to September. Due to the epidemic of
Coronavirus striking in Asia, a very important actor of the Exhibition with a strong presence of
inventions from China and Hong Kong.
Nearly 50% of exhibitors come from the Asian continent, a third of which from China and a
third from Hong Kong. As obtaining visas and planning the trip to Geneva by air is becoming
increasingly difficult for inventors from all over the world, the Exhibition management has
chosen to be wise and decided to postpone the largest event of its kind in the world until
September.
“We cannot imagine opening an exhibition that does not represent the mission we have been
pursuing for many years, namely being a platform of visibility for the inventions from all over
the world for which the WIPO grants us its patronage” declared Gaëlle Grosjean, Director of
the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva.
The Climate Show, a guest of the International Exhibition of Inventions, is naturally also
postponed to the month of September.
The Exhibition will therefore be held from September 16th to September 20th 2020 at
