The company said in a statement that total investment in the project, based in Nanjing, will be 2.82 bln yuan.
The plant is expected to make 200,000 cars and 250,000 engines every year,the company said.
The company added that most of MG Rover’s machinery and equipment in the UK has already been shipped to China and production is scheduled to start next year.
Nanjing Automobile Corp paid 50 mln stg for MG Rover in July last year, acquiring its assembly lines, engine technology and many of the firm’s models
The factory is being transported in containers, so far 3000 have arrived in the port at Nanjing causing the Customs significant overload, about 1000 are on ships and about 500 still to be packed up. They also have to sort out new suppliers for most of the components – its a very big operation to start up from almost nothing!

En realidad quien observe el Dodge Brisa en forma ligera y rápida no encontrará diferencia alguna con el Hyundai Accent.
Esta negociación se realizó en Venezuela entre la filial local de DaimlerChrysler y MMC Automotriz, representante de Mitsubishi y Hyundai, y se pudo concretar por la participación que a nivel accionario tiene DaimlerChrysler en Hyundai Motors Corea. La negociación, además es complementaria por cuanto significa teóricamente un aumento de los volúmenes de ensamblaje del Accent en la planta de MMC en Barcelona, Estado Anzoategui, y por otra parte ofrece la posibilidad a la red de concesionarios DaimlerChrysler tener a la venta un producto para competir en el segmento de los compactos y en el programa del vehículo familiar venezolano.

Hace pocos años, en México DaimlerChrysler, realizó un negocio similar con Hyundai Motors de Corea, solo que en aquella oportunidad el modelo por el cual se decidió el grupo germano-estadounidense fue el Atos de Hyundai.
