Y lo está sufriendo Renault en bolsa, -9% en este momento, aunque rebotando un poco. Ojo con esto que puede ser un terremoto en la industria, y a ver como hacen para paliar esto en Renault-Nissan.

En mi cabeza, pese a que haya robado, pienso que algo mas hay por ahí. ¿El que? Nissan es una empresa mas grande que Renault, y siempre ha tenido que dar dividendos todos los años desde que entraron en su accionariado e hicieron los recortes suficientes para que saliese a flote. Total, que no le gusta que Renault la «controle» y puede que haya empezado movimientos apra destruir lo creado hace unos años. Y además que ha sido un movimiento desde Nissan, y bien rapido que lo han echado de su consejo. Cuanto tardarán en pedir la cabeza en el resto de la alianza y Renault…

Total, ahora Nissan es fuerte, en numeros negros, adquirió Mitsu de una forma ejem ejem, y ahora es mas grande todavia. Tiene en su grupo a Infiniti (lujo), Nissan (generalista), Datsun (low cost) y Mitsu (experta en TTs e hibridación). ¿Qué mas puede pedir?

Si se cargan la alianza Renault-Nissan, podría ser uno de los movimientos más gordos de esta decada. Tenemos que estar atentos porque incluso ahora las marcas pueden aprovechar esa debilidad.

Nissan Chief Executive Officer Hiroto Saikawa declined to give details on what charges were expected against the two men in his impassioned late-night press conference Monday in Yokohama, outside of Tokyo, citing the ongoing criminal investigation. The board of Renault SA, where Ghosn is CEO, is scheduled to hold an emergency meeting Tuesday evening Paris time.

But some apparent details of the investigation have leaked via the Japanese media, where the allegations reported against Ghosn include:

– Nissan paid “huge sums” to provide Ghosn with residences outside Japan, according to a report by NHK, citing unidentified people
– Nissan didn’t disclose that it had provided Ghosn with the homes in its official securities reports to the Tokyo Stock Exchange; the residences, located in Rio de Janeiro, Beirut, Paris and Amsterdam, had “no legitimate business reason” and Ghosn wasn’t paying at least some of the rent
– NHK later reported that Ghosn may have kept some compensation approved by shareholders and intended for other executives
– The Nikkei newspaper, citing unidentified people, said that Ghosn may have used money meant for investment purposes to buy real estate for himself via overseas units. Nissan CEO Saikawa said Monday that Ghosn had both understated his income and misused company funds, including expenses and investment funds

Nissan wasn’t available for comment on the reports when contacted by Bloomberg News, and attempts to obtain a response from Ghosn or his representatives were unsuccessful.

También es que su estrategia ha sido bastante triste. El Q50 a precios muy elevados, unos Q30 y QX30 de nuevo con precios elevados y un diseño que polariza bastante y el resto de modelos viejos.

A eso hay que sumarle el extraño movimiento de cambiar la nomenclatura confundiendo a la gente, el inexistente marketing como anuncios en televisión o paneles. En fin, una muerte anunciada.

Brand to withdraw from Western Europe in 2020

Hong Kong – INFINITI Motor Company has today announced a restructuring plan that will focus the brand on its largest growth markets, specifically North America and China, while withdrawing from Western Europe.

This restructuring plan will have no impact on INFINITI’s ongoing operations in Eastern Europe, Middle East and, Asia, which continue to grow.

As part of the plan, INFINITI will electrify its portfolio from 2021 onward, discontinue diesel offerings and focus its resources on its biggest opportunities. The Company will place more focus on its SUV lineup in North America, bring five new vehicles to China over the next five years, work to improve quality of sales and residual value, and realize more synergies with Nissan Motor Company. This is all part of INFINITI’s vision to become a top challenger brand in the premium segment.

Withdrawal from Western Europe
In anticipation of its planned withdrawal from Western Europe in early 2020, the Company is working to find alternative opportunities for any employees who would be affected, consulting with employee representatives where necessary and identifying opportunities for transition and training support where appropriate. Once this is complete, INFINITI will work with its retailers to conclude end of franchise agreements, providing the support and services necessary to ensure a smooth transition.

INFINITI retail operations are to remain operational until a tailored transition plan is put in place for continued aftersales services, including vehicle servicing, maintenance and warranty repairs.
