                                  • Seamless form and refined, overt details blend heritage of craftsmanship with forward-looking innovation
                                  • Powerful grille texture, twisted wheel spokes and aircraft-inspired taillights enhance the concept’s sense of speed

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – INFINITI marks a provocative new chapter with the introduction of QX65 Monograph1, a sportback SUV concept that expands the brand’s Artistry in Motion design language into the two-row, midsize segment. Revealed today at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, QX65 Monograph expresses INFINITI’s future intentions with a daring, unapologetic stance, dramatic proportions and elevated detailing.

QX65 Monograph channels design inspiration from the pioneering INFINITI FX and exemplifies the challenging, innovative spirit that underpins INFINITI’s heritage. The concept is the latest display of the bold design choices at the heart of INFINITI’s continued product renaissance, offering a clear vision of the brand’s path.

«QX65 Monograph has extraordinary character, combining inspiration from our innovative FX coupe SUV with Artistry in Motion design principles to create a stylish two-row that proudly stands apart in the cluttered midsize luxury space,» said Alfonso Albaisa, senior vice president for Global Design. «It’s sculpted with an underlying sense of speed and elegance, blended with very muscular and strong proportions – all headlined by the expectation-defying fastback roof silhouette.»

«QX65 Monograph is more than a concept — it’s a signal that INFINITI is moving decisively into its next era,» said Tiago Castro, vice president, INFINITI Americas. «It builds on our rich legacy of innovation, pushes our design language forward and reinforces that we’re not slowing down. With QX65, we’re expanding our portfolio with purpose and shaping the bold, confident future of INFINITI.»

                                  Confidently extraordinary

The INFINITI QX65 Monograph concept is immediately identifiable by its fastback roofline, which dramatically arches over the body and plunges down toward the rear of the vehicle. This powerful motion delivers a sense of speed, a core element of Artistry in Motion and a repeated theme throughout QX65 Monograph.

This sleek and seamless upper body contrasts with the robust lower body. The wheels are pushed to the corners of the vehicle and the fenders emphatic, giving QX65 Monograph a confident, purposeful and dynamic stance. Designers crafted the vehicle’s shape around horizontal theme lines, contributing to its broad posture and contrasting with the more vertical orientation of other INFINITI vehicles.

QX65 Monograph is finished in a stunning, color-shifting satin paint called Twilight. An evolution of the Akane shade seen on QX80 Monograph, this new paint mimics the red and gold hues of the moment when twilight fades into night. Initially appearing reddish-purple, the colors soon give way to shimmering gold as the light plays upon the concept’s surface. These unexpected flashes of color are courtesy of a highly precise, multi-layer paint process, giving QX65 Monograph its rich, warm feel.

Elsewhere on the concept, Twilight contrasts beautifully with gloss black details on the roof rails and wheels, as well as artfully chosen bronze accents for the «spear» that outlines the dramatic arch of the roofline and the grille.

                                  Daringly dynamic

The straight-ahead view of QX65 Monograph immediately projects sportiness and aggression. Its grille, like other INFINITI models, was crafted to resemble Japan’s bamboo forests. Yet for the sportback SUV form factor, designers gave the grille a wilder, stirring texture that resembles those same forests agitated during a storm. The layering of the grille, replete with the three-dimensional INFINITI emblem, signals the unapologetic and invigorating nature of QX65.

Headlining the grille is extended digital piano key lighting, wrapping nearly the full width of the concept’s nose. A signature of INFINITI design, these LEDs enhance the sense of the vehicle’s wide stance, while offering a sense of Kabuku – the extraordinary – when they create a dazzling light show across the concept.

                                  Elevated details

INFINITI’s precise craftsmanship is particularly evident in the details seen throughout QX65 Monograph. Its beautifully sculpted roofline, for example, is accented by a thin and carefully sculpted accent spear that parallels the vehicle’s fastback roofline. Similarly, the 22-inch wheels feature elevated detailing, with multiple layers of delicate spokes twist and wrap together, recapitulating the sense of speed showcased throughout the concept’s design. These subtle crafted components provide additional excitement and spark more curiosity as onlookers experience QX65 Monograph’s elements.

                                  Aeronautical inspiration for modern illumination

Extravagantly three-dimensional taillights similarly allude to the concept’s sense of speed. The full-width LED array extends from the body of QX65 Monograph and features several vertical extensions. These were inspired by the tailfins of jet aircraft, adding depth and interest to the lamp design. The remainder of the concept’s rear is smooth, sleek and understated, with clean surfaces that build on the model’s promise of a seamlessly sculpted body.

Balancing bold forms with singular character and craftsmanship, QX65 Monograph speaks to a sensational future for INFINITI design. Stay tuned to see the extraordinary made real in the coming months.
